A website for fluent speech without stuttering

Hami Kalam is an online speech practice program for adults and children. A few minutes a day on your own phone or computer take you from holding a sound to real conversations.

When the bar under a word is full, it is time to say it. This calm rhythm is the base of the reading exercise.

Why I built Hami Kalam

I used to stutter.

I have felt the pain of stuttering in my bones, and I do not want anyone else to go through it.

The exercises on this site are the ones I did myself. They are how I made my speech more fluent, and today I speak without stuttering.

I built Hami Kalam so the same path is simple and within reach for you: a step-by-step program you can practice at home every day.

Hami Kalam's exercises come from my own experience, and they do not replace a speech therapist.

The maker of Hami Kalam

From a single sound to a conversation, step by step

Practice starts in the most controlled form and moves gradually to free speech and real situations.

  1. 1

    Vowel hold

Hold a vowel up to a target time. You see the sound wave and your progress as you go, and if your voice stops you carry on from where you were.

  2. 2

    Slow-pace reading

Read a text aloud while the words light up. If you read faster than your set pace, you get a reminder. Missed and repeated words are recorded too.

  3. 3

    Conversation with an AI assistant

Role-play introducing yourself, ordering at a café, asking the way, booking by phone or a job interview. The assistant is patient and never comments on your stuttering.

  4. 4

    Live call

Talk with the assistant like on a real phone call, with no buttons and plenty of time to finish what you are saying.

With you every day

A daily program

Pick a multi-day program. Each day's practice is ready, and the next day opens once today's is done.

Progress you can see

Every session, a daily practice chart and your stress before and after each conversation are recorded.

Your voice stays yours

Audio is stored only with your permission. Under 18, a parent's consent is needed.

Common questions

Is Hami Kalam free?

Signing up, vowel holds, reading practice and daily programs are free. Conversations with the AI assistant may need a subscription.

Is it for adults or children?

Both. Adults practice situations like job interviews and phone calls, and children have their own, like buying ice cream or speaking in class.

What do I need?

A phone or computer with a microphone and internet. Chrome on Android or a computer works best. On iPhone and iPad, conversation practice is not available yet.

Does Hami Kalam replace a speech therapist?

No. The exercises come from the personal experience of the site's maker and do not replace a speech therapist. You can use them alongside speech therapy, and if you need professional advice, talk to a speech therapist.

Is my voice stored anywhere?

Only if you allow it. In a live call your voice is sent to the AI service so it can answer, but it is not stored.
